SmartOptics ‘is fastest growing company in Oslo’
SmartOptics – the provider of high-quality alternative solutions to telecom, datacom and storage network operators – has won the renowned Gaselle award for 2009. The prize follows confirmation that the firm was the fastest-growing company in Oslo over the last 12 months.
The Gaselle award assesses companies in a range of sectors throughout Norway – deciding that this year SmartOptics was the most worthy winner. Founder and chief executive officer of SmartOptics Terje Hallan was in the Norwegian capital last week to formally accept the prestigious title.
Since it began in 2006, the company has enjoyed significant and consistent growth – illustrated by the fact it is set to end 2009 with a turnover of $12 million (£7.4 million).
SmartOptics is a leading producer of wavelength division multiplexing technology, which allows telecommunications firms to build simple and cost-effective systems. Organisations which invest in SmartOptics' products can "enjoy improved quality of service at exceptional service delivery price points", according to the company's website.
